Visitors must reserve cabins and camping spaces in advance here. The site is located in a remote volcanic coastline area and offers hiking along ancient trails, exploring legendary caves and fishing from the shore.
There are cabins, camping areas and picnic facilities. Natural features include a heiau, blowholes, a natural stone arch and a small beach. Blowholes are openings in the volcanic rock where breaking waves blast water into the air.
It is on the Hana Hwy (Hwy 36) (Hwy 360) about 52 miles from Kahului - Maui.
